SEASONED SAINT'S LIFEGROUPS

Jesus in Our Generation by Ben Stuart

Every generation approaches the world a bit differently, impacting their view of God, self, and

neighbor. For young adults, major advances in technology and rapidly changing social and political

landscapes have left us scrambling to find—or even define—truth. How do we adapt to cultural

revolutions while remaining anchored to God’s unchanging word?

In this six-session series, author and pastor Ben Stuart will discuss the major areas in our lives that are

directly impacted by modern culture. Discover God’s timeless wisdom for this generation and truths

that will anchor us in Christ. Trailer..

Facilitated by The Goodwin’s Mon at 6:30 PM.

Our Food & Fellowship Course:

A Meal with Jesus by Tim Chester

The meals of Jesus represent something bigger. They represent a new world, a new

kingdom, a new outlook.

Tim Chester brings to light God’s purposes in the seemingly ordinary act of sharing a meal―how this

everyday experience is really an opportunity for grace, community, and mission. Chester challenges contemporary understandings of hospitality as he urges us to evaluate why and who we invite to our table. Learn how you can foster grace and bless others through the rich fare being served in A Meal with Jesus.

Facilitated by Bro. Kevin Passmore on Fridays at 5:30 PM at the church

VALU SINGLE'S LIFEGROUPS

The Shift: Courageously Moving from Season to Season by Keion Henderson

Continuing Part 2 of this series. Discover a renewed sense of your purpose and the courage to move from what it is to what can be.

We have a tendency to think of our present situation in polarizing terms: good and bad, up and down.

Due to the seasonal nature of our life experiences, that's an easy trap for many of us. We overlook the fact that there are seasons in between, such as the season between graduation and the amazing job; between divorce and remarriage; between the failure and the success. When God is shifting us to a new level or season, there will inevitably be moments of conflict, confusion, and crisis. The Shift explores the ways we can survive times of transition with a courage that only comes when you're sure of God's purpose for your life.

Life is not about what happens to you. It's about how you respond to what has happened to you.

Facilitated by Cherii Palet Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.

MEN'S LIFEGROUPS (MOV)

Walk Thru the Bible w/ Bishop

Join a LG this Spring to continue Walking Thru the Bible with Bishop.

A 52-Lesson Introduction to the 66 Books of the Bible

For more than three decades, Through the Bible in One Year has brought greater insight into God’s Word

to thousands of believers. Taking the reader completely through the Bible, book by book, this acclaimed

learning tool spells out the progressive, step-by-step revelation of God’s will; shows how it has become manifest over

the centuries; and explains how it affects believers’ lives today.

With each study, the reader will learn...

• How to identify major themes in each book of the Bible

• How to memorize key Scriptures

• How to recognize God’s central messages

• How each book came into being and the role it plays in the Bible story

By embarking on this yearlong journey, believers will see the Bible unfold as a beautiful, divinely inspired true story, with a beginning, a middle, and an end yet to come. And by embracing its themes and truths, they will be better prepared to

meet life’s daily challenges.

WOMEN'S LIFEGROUPS

The Well-Watered Woman

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will

be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. –Isaiah 58:11 (NIV)

A well-watered life doesn’t happen overnight, and it starts with planting a small seed. It takes time for the seed to grow,

become deeply rooted, and to produce fruit.

Following Jesus is a lifetime journey! As we walk through this lifetime journey with Jesus, we will discuss the seasons of life and how to remain well-watered in our lives.

Well-Watered foundational themes:

1. Well watered: I am well watered because Jesus, the living water, satisfies my soul’s thirst forever.

2. Planted: I will focus on planting my identity in Christ.

3. Rooted: I am rooted in the gospel of Christ.

4. Prune, Grow, & Bloom: I will prune things I dont need in my life, growing in grace, and bloom in God's timing.

LIFE BUILDER'S LIFEGROUPS

Our Foundations Class: LifeBuilders

(8 WEEKS)

This is for all those who wish to explore or enrich their faith and for new beginners or those starting afresh!

Welcome to new class to renew, review, or just introduce the central concepts behind our faith. This group is designed for anyone who wishes to better understand why we believe what we believe by returning to the basics and foundation of the roots of our faith to confirm what it means to follow Christ in today’s challenging world.

It is an 8-part course that will guide you in your walk of faith and rediscover the very basics of the Christian faith. In a typical week, you will interact with a biblical text and be encouraged to begin journaling, praying and memorizing biblical passages. Then you can listen to a thirty-minute talk with study notes provided, work through the reflection questions and then have two more days to reflect over what you are learning.

While the course was originally designed for new believers, we have found that it functions well as a foundation class for all believers. Leaders in our ministry are present each week to help you with your questions to guide you in your walk with our Lord!

When we became a follower of Jesus, we started on the spiritual journey of our life. We went through the gate of conversion and started up the path of discipleship. As we travel the path, we will start to change, not because we must but because we want to. We won't always make the right decisions; we will stumble, but Jesus and your fellow travelers are there to help you get back on your feet. The further you travel, the more you will learn about God, how to listen to him and how to talk with him. You will learn more deeply who God is, who Jesus is and what he did, and who the Holy Spirit is and what he does for us. And you will learn about walking with other believers (the “church”) and inviting others to join you (“evangelism”). Because life is a journey, God does not expect you to get everything right the first time; we are all on a learning curve and God is patient with us. However, we were never intended to walk alone. We were saved into a new family, with new brothers and sisters, and a new Father. In this study you are encouraged to find an older traveler and invite them to walk with you.

Facilitated by Sis. Shannon Easton Mondays at 6:30 PM.

OUTREACH LIFEGROUP

May I Live with You? by Sis. Mary Casey

Mary D. McCray-Casey, M.B.A., presents the May I Live with You? series, offering a comprehensive framework for those seeking or providing shelter in today's challenging world. In this workbook, specific sponsorship roles with responsibilities and answerabilities are discussed from a variety of perspectives. Anyone or any agency hosting people in a homelike situation should acquire this book. The rules are applicable to anyone sharing living or working spaces, facing shelter difficulties, or needing home training and etiquette reinforcement. The 21 Rules highlight the importance of

critical thinking, concentrated learning, and shared growth for both sponsors (home-owning

providers) and tenants (home-occupying dependents). After reading this series, the following actions or enlightenments may occur:

• Teenagers and live-in adult children may recognize their family's value and show more appreciation for their home.

• Young homeowners may become more responsible community members by maintaining their property

and being considerate of others.

• Parents may promote responsibility and accountability by charging adult children rent.

• Subsidized residents may recognize risks and make changes to protect their families.

• Grandparents may improve communication with respect when dealing with difficult family situations.

• Runaway teenagers may find strength in knowing others have successfully overcome similar situations.

• Recently paroled individuals may ease their fears by using tools to navigate and reacclimate to home life.

• Parents fearing deportation may develop plans to ensure their children's well-being if separated.

Many shelter seekers struggle to find lasting, productive solutions for living with others. Mary D. McCray-Casey aims to help people overcome survival challenges and thrive in their home environments. This series highlights the importance of teamwork and collaboration in homes for host families, shelter seekers, parents, children, and

organizations. Additionally, it reinforces home rules with job readiness analogies and strategies. Learning to live

together supportively is crucial for safety, survival, sound relationships, and healthy communities.
