SERMON TITLE: A PROMISE PARTICIPANT

SERMON TEXT: Exodus 3:7–10

7The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” 11But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?

You can have a Participant's Posture: God, I still have questions, I still have prayers that haven’t been answered, but I refuse to let my disappointment be the reason I disobey your invitation.

Passenger Posture: God, I will move when you do something in my life. Until you fulfill what I’ve been praying for, I don't know if I have the heart to keep showing up for someone else.

POINT 1. God wants to use you, and He already knows what's going on in you.

POINT 2.  Just because God wants to use you doesn't mean He has forgotten about you.

POINT 3.  Don't let what God is doing through you make you bitter about what He hasn't done for you.

APPLICATION: This week, identify one person God may be calling you to help, and take one intentional step to support what He is doing in their life. Don't let your disappointment with your own promise prevent you from participating in theirs.
