Sermon Title: Full of It!
Genesis 1:1,3-5 - In the beginning God created the heavens and
the earth. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was
light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the
light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the
darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was
morning—the first day.
Psalm 90: 10 Our days may come to seventy years,
or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
Gen. 8: 22 “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never
cease.”
Then the bible applies these time elements to life. Eccl. 3:1-4 -
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity
under the heavens: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a
time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to
heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep
and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
Gal. 2: 2 I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately
with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel
that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not
running and had not been running my race in vain.
Whatever it is…
1. On time. John 11: 43 When he had said this, Jesus called in
a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!
2. Right time no more time 1 Cor. 10: 13 No temptation has
overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God
is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you
can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a
way out so that you can endure it.
3. Just in time. Luke 18:35-43 35 As Jesus approached
Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. 36
When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was
happening. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing
by.” 38 He called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on
me!” 39 Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to
be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have
mercy on me!” 40 Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be
brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41
“What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,”
he replied. 42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your
faith has healed you.” 43 Immediately he received his sight
and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw
it, they also praised God.
Life Application
1. Hold on – don’t give up…don’t give in…don’t give out…don’t
let go.
2. Remain hopeful – Romans 5:3-5
3. Trust Jesus – he is on the way.
