Sermon Title: Every Believer is a Leader: So Lead
Pericope: 1 Corinthians 11:1 (KJV) “Remember your leaders,
those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome
of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” — Hebrews 13:7 (ESV)
“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
Point 1: Leadership Is About Following First
“Follow me, as I follow Christ.”
• Leadership requires discipline, not just desire.
• Leadership requires devotion, not just direction.
• Leadership requires dependence, not dominance.
Point 2: Leadership Reflects the Character of Christ
“Even as I also am of Christ.”
Reflection:
• Leadership isn’t about being admired; it’s about being
aligned.
• You can’t lead others to Christ while living out of character
with Christ.
• Your greatest sermon is not what you preach — it’s what you
practice.
In other words:
• Christlike leaders are consistent in private and credible in
public.
• They choose submission over status and servanthood
over showmanship.
Point 3: Leadership Multiplies Disciples, Not Dependents
Paul wasn’t building fans — he was forming followers of Jesus.
True leadership doesn’t create dependency; it creates
discipleship.
Reflection:
• Kingdom leaders don’t hoard influence — they hand off
impact.
• They don’t seek to be admired — they strive to be
imitated in Christlikeness.
