Sermon Text: Jeremiah 3:15 15 “‘And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Reason #1: Have an advantage in life 

Hebrew 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Reason #2: Understanding of Life 

Jeremiah 3:15  Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.

Reason #3: So you can hear clearly in life

Romans 10:14, 15 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!

Reason #4: To build your faith in life

Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Reason #5: Course Correction in Life 

2 Timothy 4:2  preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

Reason #6: Attentive to your life

Proverbs 27:23 Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds,

Acts 20:28 Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.

Reason #7: Receive your rewards in life.

Hebrews 13: 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

1 Timothy 5: 17 The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

1 Corinthians 9:14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.

Reason #8: Have an example in Life. 

1 Corinthians 11:1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

Reason #9: Have a spiritual father praying with and for you and partnering you. 

1 Corinthians 4:15 Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

Philippians 1:3-5 3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,

Reason #10: To reach what you can’t reach in life. 

Acts 3:6  But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
