February 12th How To Make Destiny Decisions
How to Make Destiny Decisions

Pericope: Joshua 24:8-15 - 8-15 - 8 “‘I brought you to the land of the Amorites who lived east of the Jordan. They fought against
you, but I gave them into your hands. I destroyed them from before you, and you took possession of their land. 9 When Balak
son of Zippor, the king of Moab, prepared to fight against Israel, he sent for Balaam son of Beor to put a curse on you. 10 But I
would not listen to Balaam, so he blessed you again and again, and I delivered you out of his hand. 11 “‘Then you crossed the
Jordan and came to Jericho. The citizens of Jericho fought against you, as did also the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites,
Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites and Jebusites, but I gave them into your hands. 12 I sent the hornet ahead of you, which drove them
out before you—also the two Amorite kings. You did not do it with your own sword and bow. 13 So I gave you a land on which you
did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’ 14
“Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates
River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
Sermon Text: Joshua 24: 15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom
you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond
the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are
living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
Sermon Title: How to Make Destiny Decisions
Process 1: Decisions don't go wrong they start wrong
Joshua 1:10, 11 - 10 So Joshua ordered the officers of the people: 11 “Go
through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your provisions ready.
Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and
take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you for
your own.’”
Chapter 3: 5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for
tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you
Process 2: Indecision gives place to the devil
James 1: 8 KJV A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. NLT Their loyalty
is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
Aramaic plain English version - Whoever wavers in his mind is troubled in all his ways.
Process 3: Indecision is passive aggressive faith
1 Kings 18:21-21 Elijah went before the people and said, “How
long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said
nothing.
James 2:26-26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead
Process 4: Decide which currency you are going to use to advance your life: Time. Knowledge. Money.
Process 5: The right decision is a righteous decision of destiny
Vs. 16 - 16 Then the people answered, “Far be it from us to forsake the Lord to serve other gods!
Process 6: Every decision you make has a cost
Vs. 19 Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion
and your sins.
Luke 14:28-30 - 28 Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources
to complete it? 29Otherwise, if he lays the foundation and is unable to finish the work, everyone who sees it will ridicule him,
30saying, ‘This man could not finish what he started to build.’
Process 7: Decisive decisions are sealed with eternal consequences Vs. 27 “See!” he said to all the people. “This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the Lord has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to
your God.”
Vs. 15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
