Sermon Title: I’m a Whole Gift by PG2
Sermon Text: “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.
There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is
the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each
other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a
message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the
one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the
ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of
God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while
another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all
these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NLT
Emphasis: “The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with
the body of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12 NLT
1: The gift God gave you is an expression of His love for you.
2: Something on your life is in demand
Principle: The expansion on your life will require wholeness
Genesis 39:1-6 “When Joseph was taken to Egypt by the Ishmaelite traders, he was purchased by
Potiphar, an Egyptian officer. Potiphar was captain of the guard for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. The Lord
was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master.
Potiphar noticed this and realized that the Lord was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did.
This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal attendant. He put him in charge of his entire
household and everything he owned. From the day Joseph was put in charge of his master’s household
and property, the Lord began to bless Potiphar’s household for Joseph’s sake. All his household affairs
ran smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished. So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative
responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn’t worry about a thing—except what
kind of food to eat! Joseph was a very handsome and well-built young man,”
1 Cor. 12:1 Now, dear brothers and sisters,[a] regarding your question about the special abilities the
Spirit gives us. I don’t want you to misunderstand this.
1 Cor. 12:26, “If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are
glad.”
(Principle): You’re gifted to give
(Principle) Diversify your market with your gift
Galatians 3:26 For you are all children[a] of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And all who have been
united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
Takeaway # 1: When you serve your gift, God will give you success
⁃ Acts 18:8 Crispus, the synagogue leader, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of
the Corinthians who heard Paul believed and were baptized.
Takeaway #2: Conflict will reveal your market and your message
⁃ Acts 20:26-27 “Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the
kingdom will ever see me again. 26 Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of
any of you. 27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God
Takeaway #3: Give your world a whole/complete expression of your gift by letting God form you
